Seems more like a return to form. I’d say that some of the most classic ODs were engraved: Kuntosh, Top Deck, etc.

Not that anyone is required to like them.

Regardless of whether the design is something that I would choose, I appreciate that the eDITION and Crucible engravings have personal meaning to the people they were designed for.

Different strokes for different folks. I wasn’t a fan of the EDition deepest state at first, but the more I see it around, it grows on me. :man_shrugging: Being fortunate to know JT and how important it was for him to have his wife (Marie) do the artwork on it made me excited to see the art. She worked really hard on the rim engraving to make it look good, and make sure that it would look pleasing to the eye, fit on the rim, and not have it look like it could be off balance while on the rim was no doubt challenging and took a lot of creativity and practice to pull it off. It made me want a colorway that had the engravings pop, which initially had me gravitate away from the splashes. I was set on getting a blue, but being able to see an Aruna in person solidified me getting that colorway.

I wonder if she’s a tattoo artist? That’s the vibe I get from the art style. I think it’s cool but I prefer a clean look personally.

One Drop and laser engraving go way back. I missed them and I’m glad they’ve made a strong comeback.

I liked the engraving I just didn’t have a crucible on my list and budget lol

I‘m aware. What I meant was the span where they went without engravings.

Say that to little Sakura’s face and watch them cry.

I stand by what I said and take that risk.

It’s funny, I didn’t love the look of the engravings when I ordered it but also didn’t think too hard about it. But, once I received it, I have to admit that the bits of engraving that wrap off the front onto the side of the rim kind of bug because it almost looks like a ding when you’re looking at the profile…but, it’s such a good yoyo I don’t really care. Perfect shape, weight, feel imho. Glad I wasn’t aware of the Summit 2 when this came out because I would have probably only gotten one of them, and now I’ll end up with both, hopefully.

I’m usually not as big into solids, but the Joker half-swap on the Crucible is fantastic!
Gives a sweet Mardi-Gras vibe as well, haha.

Drizzles went FAST!
Anybody see how many they started with?

That Mixed Berry Drizzle is arguably the current high-mark for these new splashes.

I had to grab one. The colors are so cool and looking through old forum posts I saw nothing but praise for the kamuraiju.

I think it was 16 regular and 5 NQP for the Berry one?

There’s strong competition (Space Hippo & Aruna are gorgeous) but I’m very excited to see how this one will look, especially when spinning. Seeing how Space Hippo looks in motion made me love it twice as much.
