That’s some nostalgia. When I worked in person in the office 10+ years ago my favorite you didn’t lock your computer goating was replacing the wallpaper with a screenshot and then hiding all the icons.

I was a bit more malicious and installed software that allowed me to open/close someone’s CD tray from my computer.

We used to just change the homepage on the browser to something inappropriate that audibly gave away when they next opened it.
Some of the fan favorites have ruined 80’s songs in my head forever, haha (pre-Rickrolling).

I did and still do have a rubber ducky drive setup to install a malicious script that opens and closes the cd tray at random intervals.

Never really worked an office job, but back in high school, a friend taught me some very basic C++ and I wrote a script that would flash “SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE” randomly. Idk what ever became of it, but it makes me chuckle to think about, I think I only ran it on one or two machines.
Another time a different friend and I somehow were left unsupervised with the laptop cart, which had like 30+ laptops on it, so we got the idea to swap the keys around and spell stuff out, jumble a few layouts, etc. woulda been funny to make one like all the letter “E” or something, but we got in BIG trouble for just messing with a handful of them, I guess it’s good I didn’t have that idea at the time lol.
Anyway, that earned me (and Josh) a week of suspension. My parents were not thrilled. I was tho, I ended up learning almost the entirety of Nirvana’s “Unplugged in New York” on guitar and watched a lot of daytime tv lol
