I think the whole point of Ed’s setup is that it is opinionated, and get one if you want the greaseball bearing (which is amazing, btw, but it does lock you into that style unless you swap the bearing). Swapping bearing is e-z tho!

Mine came with nicely lubed 10 ball, is for sure decently responsive out of the box with the OD bulk. The YYSL Stay Gold string is a good bit thicker than that and makes it a bit more responsive at lower speeds, at the expense of not handling layers (does not skin gerbil)
Comparison:
I’ll be keeping an eye out for a grease bucket to try in it sometime, I bet an A Blank would also be sick.
I am but a casual modern responsive beginner, so I’m typically throwing simple 1a stuff at it; it does stall out of the box tho so it can 0a

oh i know. i like my responsives super snappy and i hate lube so anything that’s caked and sealed is exactly what i need. i just don’t need an extra regular 10 ball flat sitting around when i swap it

I bought a blue from the first drop but now I’m almost regretting it because of how much I like these yellows oops. I really love how toy-like these plastic colors make the Laguna feel. Exact type of vibe I want when I’m playing a plastic yoyo.

Yes, I assumed there would be more based on the yellow stock they posted compared to the blue but still surprised they got 100 out of it.
Hopefully everyone who wants a Laguna can get one this time. The blues went quickly!

I thought I wouldn’t like the yellow as much but it’s grown on me.
