Od organics

H shape organic it still counts lol.
I know its not classic organic but its bowly, bubbly, and curvy and plays wonderfully.

Seconding the Overture since I don’t see many mentions. Plays really fun.

Nitro & Sudo. Parlay not far behind.

Of the ones I’ve tried, pano is just the best. Parlay is a close second. I still need to try an overture and wizard.

Honorable mention to static co sudo and dreamcraft asora 3. Not technically one drop brand, although I’m pretty sure they did machine the sudo. They are both really great side effect organics.

I still have my intro. If you end up going for one, hit me up.

All good recs! I’ll throw in 2 more…controversial suggestions.

Top Deck isn’t technically organic, but it is smooth and curvy—organic-ish. Regardless, it’s fantastic, especially if you like OD.

My second rec isn’t a OD, but it is organic and has SEs. I just got it yesterday, switched in some Ti Orbs, and it’s stellar—the Bathysphere. Again, not a OD, but it’s so good that if you prioritize organic and SEs, it’s worth a try.

Completely out in left field, a fantastic organic that doesn’t meet your other requirements is the DD Oasis. I think he’s releasing more soon.

Sorry for the non-OD recs, but these are great, too.

I think it’s gotta have side effects personally. OD makes some great tapped axle organics, I’ve been enjoying my Cabal 2 a lot recently, but if you’re just looking to buy once it’s gotta have side effects.

I think I also categorize organics more into two different camps, based on the size (or lack of) response bump just because the response bump/string rub area is such a defining part of organics.

If sheer playability is what you’re looking for, Markmont Classic is the easy pick. Something like the 54 gen 2 might satisfy you, but personally I think the 54 gen 2 leans more just into being a “roundish” yoyo than a truly Freehand inspired yoyo which is my definition for what makes an organic an organic. Even the Markmont Classic starts to feel like it’s skewed very far from feeling like a Freehand, it’s an excellent and super playable yoyo, but it feels extremely just modern high performance playable. You aren’t really thinking about the walls or gap width or getting oldschool organic vibes with either of these yoyos I think. But if you just want comfort + ease of play, these have you covered.

If you want something more Freehandish with higher walls and a more oldschool, demanding type of play to it, then Parlay is the easy pick here. I think the Parlay is pretty significantly different from the Panorama. Both in in play, and in the hand, they’re completely different, each bringing something unique to the table. The Parlay is more early-metal yoyo style organic, more in line with the Bape and Freehand, but the Panorama feels like a more modern and unique direction on it with the flat sloped walls outwards and the more clearly defined cut from rim to gap.

If you’re willing to look outside of OD-produced yoyos, then I think the Bathysphere and Asora are both worth giving some serious consideration. The Asora feels more truly classic, really in line with the Freehand and YWET (and lets you use caps, which furthers the Freehand connection), where the Bathysphere is just providing a very modern and interesting take on organics.

You can’t go wrong with what you pick, but I definitely think you need to get something with side effects personally. There’s countless great organic yoyos you could buy, but when you think about organic yoyos you could have with side effects that number is considerably smaller.

But OD’s bearing seats are so good.

The Downbeat 20/20 is amazing imo, but I’m not sure how organic the shape actually is. Nitro is also great, but sometimes feels like it lacks spin time.

Reboot and parlay are hands down the most fun and capable organics they make. Reboot might be my favourite od

Get the one you like the shape/weight of the most.

Does pano/Dio count? I end up playing that most followed by parlay and reboot.

got a pano and i can’t put it down

I second the Kraken, “bubbly organic”
Awesome throw!
My other favorite organic-esque (stretched organic, tiny hint of H, haha!), is the Prescription. Super comfortable and great performance, weight, etc.

The Cabal Gen 2 is just executed perfectly, it feels great in hand, great feel on the string, great spin time and stability while retaining just enough wall for nice rejections and tilt control. Also plastic yoyos that feel this high quality are rare.

For me the Parlay just lacks a little bit in performance without giving enough in return for that subjective feel wise compared to organics I would consider top tier like the Cabal.

I can’t nobody has mentioned the M2!!

It’s brand new and every color in stock right now. In my opinion everybody who doesn’t already have one needs to drop what they’re doing and go cop
