New Yoyofactory models?

Why is Yoyofactory releasing new models in Japan but not in the USA? Why is an ‘American’ company not releasing their new models here at the same time? These models are available in Japan but not even on their official site. I feel like American consumers are being ignored and treated like second-class citizens. This just adds to the growing perception of irrelevance in the non-beginner market.

Thankfully, the Balls yo-yo is still available in the USA… :frowning:

Wonder if they are just too expensive after tariffs and fees to sell at a reasonable price in the US now? That’s pretty interesting, I wonder what’s up.

But I mean… there’s plenty of other manufacturers still producing offshore and selling stateside. Strange

I think you just answered your question why, the North American market has become polarized. Lots of threads bashing YYF between YYEF and Discord.

So, we are being punished? That seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I think “second-class” citizens is a stretch. Tons of companies will only release items overseas and/or America depending on sales. YYF puts out a lot of throws as it is, so not every one is going to be available here. Manufacturing is all overseas, so it makes sense to release some models over there to see if they sell, then it might be worth doing a run for the States - everything is way more expensive, and I am sure the costs for a run plus all the import fees, etc.. is pretty high. Plus, look how many of the YYF sponsored players are from Japan, it’s a good business practice to recognize them with special “Japan only” releases for their efforts. I really like YYF as a brand, but for the cost, and what I like, YYF’s, G2, MFD, C3 are going to get my money first with the exception of 720s! At worst, you might have to wait a bit for it to show up here on the BST or YYF will sell some here.

Its just business, they are a global business, they sell where people are buying. Russell Yo-Yo did a similar business model back in the day.

You would think that they would want to release their newest stuff on their website too. The new Miracle 4 looks pretty nice but I would much rather buy it from YYE/USA and save on the shipping costs.

The miracle 4 is on the YYF site last i checked. They do eventually release their Japanese models here although much later and in seemingly smaller batches. It also looks like all of their Japanese models are produced by SUS which also makes their own models and works closely with the YYF Japan team.

I saw some prototypes available yesterday. Now all are gone today. Maybe they are posting soon…

It just makes it feel like the US market is an afterthought.

I think their Japanese team is driving some of these designs on behalf of their Japanese market.

TBH, I never could tell whether I was finding everything that was for sale on their website.

The Pneuma is the only new model I find interesting.

I think they’re mainly releasing models here under sub-brands, like Yoyo Champion and whatever.
