Playing a lot of Hades and making a lot of pizzas
Wow so pleased to see some slingshot enthusiasts! I like to split some cans every now and then too. The cardboard catch box is a great idea. I think I should make one to fold up and keep in my trunk
I started on a spiritual journey during this quarantine just exploring my mind. And most recently picked up a yoyo like not even a month ago. And now I have 6
He who unifies the outer and the inner becomes ONE.
I started building bang sticks
And what’s your favorite of the yoyos you have?
Different type of bang stick but they are chambered 5.56.
What do you use yours for? 5.56, long range bang stick???
Just target shooting
While being stuck inside with the ice and snow I’ve started playing with low end FPV drones. Of course, you start with a low end set of drone, goggles and controller for around $150. Then you decide that you need goggles that go over your glasses, then you want a better controller, then, like yoyos, one drone is not enough.
Don’t forget the R/C planes and helicopters of all sizes!
Started doing astrophotography using my Dad’s Newton mirror-telescope and my DSLR.
Here are some first attempts:
M51: Whirlpool Galaxy: 70 frames à 30s @ ISO400
M101: Pinwheel Galaxy: 22 frames à 60s @ ISO800
M42: Orion Nebula: 22 frames à 60s @ ISO800
Still fighting with the polar alignment though. The Vixen GPDX mount is fairly old and not that easy to align. I’m shooting with 800mm focal length which requires very precise polar alignment with longer exposure times (>30s). Target time will be 180s.
Once I get the alignment dialed in, the setup should be able to pump out a lot better shots. Let’s see how it goes. Practice makes perfect they say.
Amazing!!!
Please keep those coming!
There’s a group here in GA that meets on a farm in the “darkest region of Georgia” to do just what you’re doing.
Nice! Just finished putting together the telescope that I got for Christmas. Now waiting for it to warm up a bit.
I’ve really been thinking about a hamster. As a kid I always wanted one of those big setups with tubes going everywhere and several rooms. Been reading that lots of little rooms is not good, you need a big container, at least 600 square inches. That is okay as long as I can run tubes and network smaller rooms to it.
A grownup with a hamster. I know. I know. But I don’t care.
This girl’s 3yo!

Man, ya’ll are having quite a bit of fun! I’m a little late to the C19 hobby thing as both my wife and I were working at home all last year alongside our 3rd grader Zoom-learning. I didn’t have anything left over!
This year however, I’m laid off just in time to plan a move to Europe (as soon as the visas happen) for my wife’s job. I found I had some time in-between weird document certification (Apostille?), German class, moving logistics and rediscovered…Yo-ing!
I busted out the red/black “Brush and Yo Daily” my dentist gave me years ago, found YYE tutorials, and have been getting busy. It’s such a great mind-clearer, an elegant expression of physics, and something my kid and I can learn together. Super Yays all around.
