Need suggestions for a good H-shaped bi-metal

I need some suggestions for a good H-shaped bi-metal. I like the Asian brand Ace Yo and have several with my most recent purchase being the Mercy 8. It’s H-shaped and diverges from the Mercy 7 (which I really like) quite a bit. It’s a beautiful yoyo, but disappointing to play IMO. It has notably less spin power than the Mercy 7, with it dying out and barely making it back to my hand with the same combos and tricks where the Mercy 7 has spin left to spare. It also just feels sluggish and seems to wear through the string way too fast at the point just beyond the response pad (there are no burrs, I think it’s the finish.) I’m just not enjoying it, but I like the shape. So I’d like to find something “better” that is very similar in shape.

The YoYoFactory Beyond looks interesting to me, I just wish there were some better colorways available. I’d like to limit myself to $100 or less since this is a “want” and not a “need” (I realize that will limit the choices.)

The picture here is the Mercy 8 for reference.

Enso gear 5 would be a great choice :innocent:

If you like aceyo for their anime engravings check out my yoyo “Kaizoku yoyo by sleeper” is probably how you’d find it by looking it up.
I used to use aceyo but imo they’re too sharp and hurt my hands. This one is still really fast and is actually comfortable in the hand at $65

The enso gear 5 is freaking amazing. Can’t recommend it enough- pure fire

On YYE and YYF’s sites I’m seeing what looks like the Edge rebranded as “Beyond” and only in a few colorways with some sold out. Do you have any links?

w1ld W!ld (or the newer Wilder)

Another really good option for you at a decent price.

Over budget but one of the best throws out there.

the TRT Sago looks good

Hydrogen Crash is my favorite H-shape if you like speed and power. If you dislike light yoyo maybe stay away from it but it plays heavier than it actually weighs due to rimweight. Other good H-shapes include the Ekta, Aggressor, Aurus, and Plasma Crash.

Sago is also great, yeah

We have a few b grades left that go for $95 so just under budget, our b grades are pretty solid too, sometimes hard to tell the difference with the b grade if you don’t have an A grade side by side with it :innocent:

No love for Motion Elevated? Thing spins forever. Sometimes it feels like it hovers and I’m just guiding it through the air.

I’ve been yoyoing for about a year, so there are a lot of brands I’ve heard of but don’t know about. I appreciate the suggestion, I’m looking at it and it looks pretty good…

The Mercy 8 is 57mm x 49mm @ 65.1g. Are you looking for an alternative with similar dimensions?

More or less, I do like the 46-50mm width range and a slightly larger throw that is a medium weight. I’ve been into yoyoing for about a year so there are a lot of yoyo’s I’m not familiar with so I’m appreciating hearing everyone’s opinions.

Also a beast. Hard to find and even harder to find for under 100 bucks

As far as matching the shape of the Mercy 8, I can definitely rec the Edge 2022 (and very likely +1 the 4.0, but I’ve not played it specifically). If you’re looking for something more hard-H shape than the Edge series, I’d recommend the YYF Moonlight. Underrated throw, imo. Any of those should give you plenty of spin time, but especially the latter 2.

If you’re not afraid of buying used, you should have no problem getting the colorway of your choice on the BST with your budget. (PS, it’s the Edge Beyond, which YYF rebranded since the “Edge” name is so associated with Evan Nagao).
