Let’s gooo! Those yoyos are super good for the style imo and do have a more narrow gap which is great. but yeah like it can be really annoying to bind in 3A even w really really nice yoyos just bc it’s harder to bind with the short strings 3A demands. You can get more used to it but I gotta use really soft pads and super super fat strings to work with the 4.5mm gap my fav pairs have. It would be worth trying your fav yoyos w a 74cm string just to compare like work on a bit of offhand 1a maybe and yeah.
Slippy binds is kind of just an annoying part of 3a too like even the best players in the world let binds slip. Here is the best in the world letting like 5 binds slip in 60 seconds so yeah
Matching pairs are dope though lol and copping those titans was a good move yo like pretty much an ss tier 3a pair imo so you shouldn’t feel like there are other yoyos that will be much of an upgrade. This will help the style be more fun fr bc slippy binds does suck.
I use the Recognition reduxes because they have a 4.3ish gap instead of the usual 4.5 and it really helps with short 3A string. Titans have a tighter gap too so that should help a bit!
Yeah I’ve been comfy around 80cm lately. I just measured it for the first time after tweaking length all week.
Edit for additional thoughts: I did order some of that kitty XXL string and it’s supposed to come in on monday so I’m gonna try that with my old 4.5mm gap-having colossus vi maxes and see how short it can go with normal gaps. If it’s nice it will really open up my options for my next 3A pair…
Requesting help….. blue line barrel rolls. Easy entry, easy roll, but I just don’t understand how to get out. I’ve tried a few different ways and end up knotted.
Swing the back yoyo around the front yoyo in a clockwise direction and drop both yo-yos while the string is untwisting. I only have one yoyo at work or I would try and shoot a quick video.
With the yoyo that is in the front, roll into the top string before you go to dismount. Should end looking like how it looks before you start the rolls, but with extra wraps. Then toss the front yoyo to the dom hand side on the outside and the other yoyo to the inside. The thing you’re missing is the roll into the top string with the front yoyo before you go to dismount. This is the classic dismount but there are infinite dismounts. Try it with that extra roll and that should solve this.
They’ve been taking extra abuse but are holding up. The best part so far is that I’ve shortened the string more and they bind great. They have a lot more power to spin through my mistakes. So for sure better to learn on than what I was using.
I did not “need” new throws, but with the Labor Day sale and the operator induced wobbling of my other set I decided to just jump in and buy a nice new set.
