help! I have to have it unresponsive! I just got it 5 days ago.

Get some YYJ thin lube… put a drop on a needle, then apply to the yoyo.
OR
You can untwist one side, creating a larger gap, which will cause the yoyo to be less responsive.

or just play it. if you just got it 5 days ago and you haven’t spent a ton of time throwing it, it’s likely to still be responsive. if you got the d bearing version (with pad response), the bearing comes oiled and needs to be broken in. you could clean it in mineral spirits, but i’m not a fan of that. just play it responsive and throw some long, hard sleepers and it will work itself out nicely.
do this little test. unscrew the yo-yo. turn the bearing around with your finger. if it spins around ok (but doesn’t spin on and on when you flick it), that’s pretty normal. my skyy chaser (and most d bearing spyys) came like that. they’ll gradually get less responsive as you spend more time playing them.
