Thanks Neff!
Nice looking string you got there. I could use a tut for that.
Wow, that’s a great looking string. :o
My first I just got some cotton twine stuff, and spun it together like yoyo string (well… really thick yoyo string)
Sweet! I love the independence of being able to make my own string, you will too.
Thanks guys!
There is a video posted in the getting started section. Here are some pointers I used size 10 mercerized cotton crochet thread. 3 ( 2 pink 1 white) pieces for the sting in the picture. They started 23’ long. Twist with drill (forward direction if left handed use reverse) till it shrinks about 4 feet. Everything else is in the video.
Good luck!
two truisms:
- Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
- Everybody should check the Gettin’ Started Section!
But here’s the vid. Enjoy my pajamas.
I really should read that section.
i have been dabbling in the art of string making. i use to have a yoyo string company, “BLING STRING”
the top string making process is much much harder than a yoyo string. yoyo string has 2 wound pieces but spintop string has 3 pieces wrapped around each other. i love making top string, i needed to learn how to do it fast because i am left handed. the string is wound counter clockwise for southpaws.!!!
how helped you
