I’m just getting into spin tops and I’m going to need some strings (the ones that came with the tops are too short). Is there still someone making strings or am I better off just buying a spool of string and going from there? I do have a couple of larger wood tops coming and will probably need some thicker strings for those as well.
Any help would be appreciated.

They have string making and other recommendations there. I am a week into trying to throw my new YYF SpinTop (currently suck!) and having a blast… my string is looking beat so I may wash it or I may order some replacement from the YYE Store. YYF Spin Top String & Button Kit – YoYoExpert

Thanks for the reply Nic. I did order one of the extra strings. The balls that come with it are really heavy…too heavy for me just starting out. The string that comes in the pack is too short as well…no better than the ones that came with the tops. I picked up a roll of cotton string at my local Menards to try some different lengths until I can find someone to make me something better.
My larger tops are waiting for me at the post office. I’m hoping the strings for them are long enough.

If you use the ring that comes with the YYF tops the string is just right. Without it, yeah, too short >:(
ACE hardware has some descent stuff., also I still make strings message me if interested.
