Just curious, I’m as I’m super familiar with either.
I couldn’t say but that throw looks super interesting, where did you get it?
I got it at a Pride festival last year from a local artisan, Turning a Tilly (https://www.turningatilly.com/)
Brass response looks like a Boise, if so, you’re in luck, you likely have an exciting “E” bearing in there.
E - Fits the Spintastics Tornado 2, Tigershark, Riot, Great White, Comet, Torch, and Firefly, and Yomega small bearing yo-yos such as the Raider.
Can check the specs, but should be around 3.962 x 7.925 x 3.175mm
Similar in size to the Mighty Flea (Size K, 4 x 8 x 3mm)
Are you certain that’s not an MR84? A looper bearing. It looks like it could be that. Hard to say from the pic though.
MR84 is a more industry standard nomenclature for that bearing. Many RC vehicles use these as well so there are some good and affordable sources out there if you look up MR84
There are also size I bearing as found in Tom Kuhns and BCs: * Size I - Fits all Tom Kuhn ball bearing yo-yos. Measures .125" x .312" x .140"
99% certain this is correct. If you need to buy another bearing for it in the future Rob it’s part number is R155 E. If you have calipers give it a measure and we will know for sure.
Well…I’ve been meaning to buy some calipers. Guess I will now.
Thanks, all!
FYI this $10 plastic seemingly cheapo pair has been more accurate for me than my more expensive stainless ones. It’s the only caliper that gave me an accurate reading of my black mamba steel bearing.
Ohh yeah those are the same brass fit guts that Boise uses which does use an E bearing. Which is similar in size just different inner diameter to an mr85
