haha sorry about my tantrum yesterday guys. Been a long couple of weeks and sometimes I just gotta vent!
I think I gotta find a balance here and to not put so much pressure on myself. It’s not like you guys are putting pressure on me…you all have been so dang supportive and encouraging, even when I struggle to land a trick for that week.
It’s me putting pressure on myself.
Yeah that’s exactly where I am right now.
This is a learning process…and I think I’m just trying to learn where the boundaries are. I think I’ve pushed a little too hard lately here in the Trick-A-Week as I’m trying to figure out what level of tricks to work on.
Now that I’ve learned a bit of a lesson here, I’m going to put some more thought into my next up coming tricks. I hope to continue to pick tricks that provide a challenge…but not tricks that are simply beyond my skill level at the moment.
I think it’s good to be challenged…but not so challenged that it leads to frustration and burn out like I find myself.
Hopefully we’ll pick some tricks in the future you can enjoy again Beeebon.
This (for me at least!) is a very difficult element to land! I’m starting to hit it…but it feels incredibly awkward still and I have a really hard time hitting it then flowing into the next bit of the trick.
On a side note…after working on this just for the short time I’ve worked on it so far these last couple of days…my consistency with regular magic drops has skyrocketed! So that’s damn satisfying!!
Thank you for this @EOS44.
I’m just going through a bit of learning here…trying to figure out where I’m at skill wise…I’ve pushed a bit too hard these last few weeks. I’ll be more mindful moving forward and will try to continue to push myself with challenging tricks…but not tricks that are simply out of my current range.
My new camera is a piece of junk. It’s one of those GoPro knockoffs you can get in the rainforest. Landed some tricks in poor quality. That bind it looks like I miss is totally a poor image processing artifact
Okay first of all…haha nice job on the Ryo and Candy rain dude! I always love seeing you dominate tricks
And second…what are your honest opinions on the camera? Is it the Asako?
It looks fine to me! More then good enough for anything I’d need…and I’m highly considering picking one up next month.
Should I hold off on the Asako?
It’s the Akaso EK7000 Pro. It just looks so much worse than my phone camera, and worse than all the advertising. I didn’t just go by those yo-yo vids either. I recorded walking around my house in different lighting conditions, and the lighting and color was always way off, and the picture is really grainy and jittery.
It’s certainly workable for yo-yo vids if you don’t want to spend much. But it does awful stuff with color, basically making my blacklight useless.
I should probably learn Candy Rain by normal means. I only know how to do it’s variation, Candy Slack (which starts out different) but then goes into the same moves that Candy Rain has.
You make it look SO easy! But there’s some great tips here I’ll pay attention to next time I’m working on this beast of a trick…especially the bit about the thumb.
