That’s the way to do it.
Thanks man, going to start working on this week’s trick from tonight.
I didn’t want to sit here during lunch break watching tutorials and just wanted to Jam and work on smoothing out last weeks challenge.
This week, I am going to set a lofty target for myself and try and learn the trick before @shatterFX posts a complete video.
Haha, nice. I’m probably not going to have a lot of time this week, so I just hope I can learn it at all. I’m still working on the speed combo too. I want to get that down perfectly, but that’s gonna take time so I won’t devote too much practice time to it every day.
Wait…what the heck was that! >.<’
I knew it! I knew it all along!
You’re actually a pro just trying to pretend to be a noob!
I KNEW IT!
lol seriously…that was freaking sick! Wow man!! Way to go!! Your quick progress has done nothing but amaze me!
Well, Twitch, my SuperFlow is SuperWhatevertheoppositeofFlowis, and, definitely not smooth or speedy. More practice is needed.
Just a side note to this weeks trick, from the chopstick undermount, you can also do this cool injection:
I hear you!
I suck at Superflow…but dang, I’m amazing at SuperWhatevertheoppositeofFlowis!!
@MoonageMin
I really like the way that you do a bunch of tricks on a single spin. It’s inspired me to start doing the same…instead of doing a trick then binding and doing a new throw before moving onto the next.
I’d like to dedicated a few days this week just working on speed combos now too…after watching your 2 vids above.
I haven’t worked on them at all to be honest. I’ve been spending all my time on Superflow and a few other things (like kamikaze and a couple of combos I’ve been working on).
Thanks for posting the vids! They’ve helped me find a couple of new goals to work on this week (along side the Mexican Duck Pond trick)!
I read somewhere someone posting an advice,
it was something along the lines of :
Try and make the most use out of your yoyo’s spin and get used to doing so
I have since tried to maximise each throw and get more out of it to help me understand and get better at doing tricks efficiently and keep the spin going.
I try if possible to keep going until the spin is low and I know I need to bind soon before it starts toppling over.
Has been helpful for me to practice this way but YMMV
Oh, I also like how you’ve changed the title to now include the week # and the trick we’re working on!
Yeah that’s good advice. Sloppy play kills spin, and you need to be able to flow from one trick to another, and finally you need to learn how much spin you need to do different binds, and how to do binds with less spin. Also, keeping control of the yo-yo as the spin dies.
Oh…now you tell me!
Sure would’ve been nice to know this sooner!
Love this trick.
I think the trickiest part is managing the string section length so that the gyro flop on the NTH is neither too tight nor too loose. You can adjust it a tiny bit by tugging on the string going to your TH but not by a lot.
The flop doesn’t need to have aligned string planes, and it actually helps the flop finish faster if some of the strings are crooked. The yoyo’s gotta be spinning pretty fast though.
Nailed it!!
What yo is that? It looks huge!
Or maybe you just look tiny! lol
At any rate…nice job! You made this look so easy!
Thanks! To be fair, I learned this trick last year - always good to revisit things, though.
The yoyo is my upcoming 55x55mm design, the Mk1 Umbra.
i’ll try to learn it today but on the 27th Jake has a yoyo for me from @twitch77 and a Varient from @pmdon
I had learned super flow but I forgot so it was nice to relearn it also when will the umbra be out on YYE and how much will it cost
How difficult is the gyro to get down once you can get into the mount? How hard do you have to pull the string?
wait Twitch i’m hearing people talk about Superflow and Mexican Duck Pond and now i don’t know what trick it is please help
