Hmmm, I have that problem to… But I just keep playing… I tried double, but as you said, it gets tooooooo tight…
I noticed that you could use the slipknot two ways, for me, the best way (less turning) is presented bellow:

Lol looks like you are using Night Moves.
Okay so yes totally agree I get spinning strings with Airetics and Markmonts.
This is what I do.
- as the string breaks in it does get a little better naturally.
- get a small rosin puck off Amazon and rub the finger knot in it. Becomes super tight after that
