I made a quick help video…
… or that was the idea at least
So when I recorded this I literally just woke up and whilst making coffee I thought, “hey it would be great to make a quick () help video for the TaW gang”.
So I did, but I totally rambled on for ages and ages lol.
I may or may not retake this again when I am more awake. But here you go guys if you need help I tried to break it down.
Thank you! But honestly i need to schedule time to watch this… personally i got what i need from your first video on #21.
I think 16 min is a bit long but i look forward to hear your ramblings
Hey thanks for the tips video Moonsy! I’m only halfway through, but really appreciate it!
Been such a busy day for me!
I can’t explain what I was doing wrong with the first bit of the trick. I was landing on the back string correctly…but only at about 10% of my attempts. It felt random on whether I’d hit it or not.
Finally yesterday (friday) I had a “ah ha!” moment and started to figure out what should be happening…but I still wasn’t hitting it consistent.
Then today (saturday) it just started happening…and I felt a tad bit euphoric about it! haha…it feel so freaking good when you put effort into this hobby and work through your frustrations and then finally have that moment when all the sudden things just start making sense.
Still have no idea what I was doing wrong. No idea how to explain what I’m now doing right…
But I do have that first bit finally!
Still only up to the GT though…haha I REALLY need to memorize what to do after the GT so I can finish this trick.
The GT is something I’m struggling with though…I find it really difficult to hop out of it.
Practice, Practice, Practice!
Also…holy hell…that bit where you explain that you need to land on the back string and THEN reject the string from you finger is a huge tip here! I kept trying to get the string to reject while I was flipping it over just before landing on the string.
Amazing tip there Moons!
I think if you get better and smoother you can do both at the same time like Tyler does in the video. But I think it makes it a lot more difficult to learn when we are just starting
Okay now after watching you work your way all the way through the trick…I can say I have completed the trick (just once so far!). There really isn’t much to remember after the gt!
lol it ruined my evening that the counterweights I sent Ryan got lost :*(
I’ve got zero experience with Freehand…but I’m planning on putting everything (other than looping) on halt other than 5a for May…really hoping I can get use to the basics…5a has been a dream style for me since the early 2000’s when it first started taking off!!
Bonus points this week if you guys can string together And Whut with other brother GT (Ryo combo for example) and end with the Deep Magenta (which is yet another brother GT) hehehe.
I’mma be generous and let ya’ll go for the bonus points this week!
…/pfffft
I could totally do the Whutever over the moon across the court nothing but net GT Magenta thingy if I wanted.
I just don’t want to take the points away from others in need!
The dismount was super annoying. I kept having two strings wrapped around my fingers, and I couldn’t figure out why. What was happening was the string on the yo-yo was getting pulled along with it, sort of the opposite of a rejection.
I watched the video so many times… then I noticed on at least one pass the string was doing the same thing but kinda snapped out of the gap before getting wrapped around. It was subtle, only saw it going frame by frame.
And @twitch77, the flip at the beginning I think I know how to explain it. You start it basically like you’re doing a double on, then twist the whole mount so it lands on the back string.
Anyway, I started landing it last night. Not very consistent or smooth yet, but not bad for one day.
