I’ve got a black one on the way to my house. Can’t wait to get it.
I picked up a silver Shu-Ta a few weeks ago. It outplays all of my CLYW’s and GenYo’s, and is VERY smooth.
There are ‘no’ known issues with any batch of YYF Shutter yoyos. Potential to strip a Shutter is no greater than any other good metal yoyo.
So your ‘caution’ has little substance.
If you have had a personal problem with your particular Shutter; then contact YYF customer service.
They would be most interested to hear about it.
