Well, I’m pretty much a complete beginner. The only skills I’ve ever picked up on with a yoyo is a sleeper and some very basic (mostly looping) tricks long ago. I’ve been wanting to get into throwing 1A for some time now, and I’ve finally decided to.
I’m just about ready to order, but I was wondering if this purchase would be suitable for me:
velocity
100 type 6 poly strings
thin lube (just to keep my bearing from dying since the velocity is already adjustable. probably for future use as well)
Are there any items I’m missing that I should/need to purchase? I won’t be making another order for a bit, but if I’m overlooking a better alternative for beginning, please point it out.
Maybe at least two or three months at minimum. It shouldn’t be as bad since it can go unresponsive, but I just don’t want to end up at a disadvantage. However, the velocity seems to be relatively well liked for what it is, so I should be okay.
Although a variety bundle sounds great, I really didn’t want to order from multiple stores and waste on shipping, so I just settled. I’ve heard that slick string is better for beginners usually, but I’ll get used to poly sooner or later, even if it does initially put me at a disadvantage. Thanks!!
I REALLY should have thought of that earlier before I ordered. If only I would have waited a bit. How long does a set of k-pads usually last? I could make an order again soon if I really need to, I just wanted to avoid it.
For me, after alot of hard play 4-5 months… And that was playing after they started to die… They still work after they die but you just get looser binds…
So for you, sense your still biginning, I dont think you’ll burn through them soo bad…
For your next purchase I reccomend some counterweights, and pads.
