is the yyf velocity a good yoyo??

can somebody tell me the pros and cons of this plastic yoyo??

Plastic Velocity was the 1st yoyo I got (not counting various coca cola plastic yoyo’s and such) - and I got it because it was cheap, and it would probably be able to make me decide if this hobby was anything for me.
And it’s been a nice yoyo, I’ve learned all of the basics. I then bought a Dark Magic, and for a long time the velocity was forgotten. I’ve gotten DV888 since then, and now all 3 yoyo’s gets used now and then.
Velocity is my least used yoyo at the moment, and that I’m pretty sure it wont change. DM and DV888 are just better yoyo’s, but I still haven’t regretted buying it -and velocity is still fun to throw now and then.

I would say it’s a great yoyo for beginners who would like to see if the hobby is anything for them. It’s nice that you can adjust the response very quickly, because beginners can then make it somewhat responsive, and then when they get better - make it unresponsive.

When I had learned the basics, I’ve found it much easier to complete the more complicated tricks on a DM than on a Velocity. The gap seems pretty small on the Velocity, but I guess you could say it’s a good thing - because if you can land double or nothing or such with a Velocity, then it will only be that more easy on some other yoyo with a bigger gap…

Sooo… conclusion: Yes, it’s a nice yoyo for it’s price. If you are not new to yoyo’ing, and you allready got an unresponsive yoyo (or several) - then Velocity won’t be the one that steals the play-time from the others. It’s still a nice, fun little yoyo - so you could still get it to your collection. But I would mainly recommend it as a cheap way to get into the hobby…

thanks, i think im going to buy it

I just got the velocity recently. In my opinion it’s a great yoyo, and probably one of the best investments I have ever made in a yoyo. It’s awesome that you can adjust the dial from responsive to unresponsive.

The new version 3 Velocity has a wider gap than previous models, so don’t worry about the gap.

here’s my review of the velocity

as stated in the review. I love the velocity and always will.  it’s plastic but plays like a high end metal(little exaggeration) you’ll read more in the review.
