So I’m stuck on trying to smooth out my Matrix … I’m determined for it to look like Andre’s. Everyday I practice, prob not enough, but I’m not really seeing any smoothing out progress. Do to the repetition fact and not seeing too much improvement, my attention span is weaning and boredom is setting in. Do I move on to learning another trick or stick it out on the Matrix smoothing train. Can anyone relate to this?
Play on an aggressively response yoyo, something that’s not very stable and wants to respond. If you have any fixed axle or transaxle yoyos with a starburst, a legend wing, spinstar, raider even, matrix is a trick you can do on all of those yoyos.
Learning more (and harder) tricks and just progressing naturally will make you better at yoyoing than rote grinding of one single trick (plus it’s more fun and keeps the yoyoing fresh and exciting imo) and as you get better and spend more time playing, smoothness will just come from having an increased level of control over the yoyo. If you really want yours to look like Andre’s though, practicing with a very responsive yoyo will give you that look
Yes. And i strongly suggest you move on and just throw the matrix casually… use it as a skeleton for your own combo… come back to i it next month and i bet you’ll notice improvement
if you already know how to do it then don’t worry about it being smooth. Just move on to the next trick you want to learn. As you continue progressing and the tricks you learn become harder… all of your older tricks will begin to smooth out and look better naturally. Just keep on learning while still doing that trick in combos you create. Its good to care about how your tricks look so you know when the execution is sloppy but don’t over think it. Just keep on learning
Agree with everyone here. Just keep moving on to the next trick and throw it in randomly as you are warming up or whenever. You will notice other tricks will help you learn how to make certain elements more smooth
