I’d like to see a feature that allows me to look at the unread posts only from sections that I choose. It gets tedious filing through all the BST and Unrelated threads to find new topics that I would want to read.

dude, 100% agree. It’s a pain in the neck.
This is kinda similar, so I’ll post it here.
In ‘show new replies to you posts’ I want to be able to choose which threads show up here. I don’t want to keep seeing ongoing threads like: ‘corrupt a wish’, ‘what are you throwing today’, ‘you know your obsessed with yoyoing when’

Sorry for the necro, but I don’t feel like creating another topic. This is similar to the topic anyway.
How about adding a column to the “Show unread posts since last visit” and the “Show new replies since last visit” pages for the section each topic belongs in?
It’ll go something like this:
