I repaired my broken Brain

The saga of the eBay’d Glow in the Dark Brain continues.

It cracked the other day when (gingerly) tightening it down, I guess 30 y/o plastic will do that.

So I had been thinking of ways to salvage it, and it occurred to me I could drill some plugs in the crack and inject some epoxy

So that’s what I did. I have a precision drill and pin vice set, and drilled into a few spots down to the cap, and then mixed up some clear 2 part epoxy, and used a tooth pick to push it into the holes till I could see it fill out the other side

It cures in an hour, but I let it sit overnight. It feels very sturdy, and did not yield when I put it back together, and it functions just like normal, success!!

Between the spindle and this we will soon be having a debate on the yoyo of Theseus.

Anyone got a spare axle?

Don’t ask why I can’t just let this live in retirement on my shelf, I feel compelled to keep it playable lol.

I can probably unbox mine and measure the threads today to see what kinda axle it is.

It’s the same axle as the Fireball, 6-32 threads.
