The regular Crayola pencils are what I use most. Fantasia second and Prismacolors I mostly use white and sand for blending. I think I use Crayola pencils differently than you. I add light layers of different colors to get to the color or tone I want then use white, peach, yellow or sand to blend it all together. I use a black pencil first to lay in shadows and darker areas and work my way up to the lightest colors. Prismacolors are superior but I have a heavy end and Prismacolors are very soft so I break the lead a lot. Fantasia are a lot cheaper and just about as good as Prismacolor.

And I am just the opposite. I have a lite touch. Am overly careful not to tear or damage the paper. Guess that is the beginner in me.

I’m careful with paper too but for some reason I find Prismacolors points falling out after sharpening.

Have you ever tried to draw? You should. You might surprise yourself. Don’t put a lot of pressure on yourself and just try to copy something the best you can. Copying is a good way to get a feel of drawing.

8 1/2” x 11” sketchbook page I worked on from September 2019 until last Friday.
