Hyper Yoyo Accel

Good day all, I am planning to buy a hyper yoyo accel from rewind and would like to her all about your experience with it, and as well if there are any specific models to avoid. I would also like to ask on what string yall use with the hyper yoyo?

Hyper Accel is more of a novelty than a performer. It’s fun to spin the caps and all, but can be tricky to catch/ use, at least that’s my experience with the Origin. I still play it for fun, I also keep it in my car as a spin fidget lol.

What is your play style or kind of tricks are you planing to learn?

I plan to add it to my edc case, so that when someone wants to try out yoyoing I could give let them have a go at yoyoing. I also plan to use it for responsive trick practice like looping, 0a, etc

They’re affordable enough that I didn’t regret picking one up for fun just to goof with occasionally. Got mine at NER which was at a mall that had a Bandai store.

I wouldn’t recommend an Accel origin to a beginner because of the aforementioned slippery nature of the catch due to the bearing-ized sides.

Best beginner yoyo to carry and give away imo by far is the Duncan Butterfly (or XT if you’re fancy)
YYF Whip can also get an honorable mention for cheap, available, performant. They can be found at hobby lobby for $5, but I prefer the feel (and nostalgia) of a butterfly.

What string thickness do you use for your accel origin?

I have been running YYSL plutonium in it, I would consider that a fat string.
