So I have been scared on the occasions when I have to take apart my Orbital GTX. The short axle gives me a hard time when I am putting it back together and I sometimes start to get the feeling that it is going in a little crooked and have to start over. I don’t think I have damaged the threads inside. How would I know if I had damaged the threads?
Well, if you happen to have an otoscope laying around you may be able to take a look in there to see if any of the threads look mangled. Another easier indication (but not 100% fool proof) is if the threads on the axel itself look like they have sustained damage. Now the axels are steel and most yoyo’s aluminum, so it’s possible for the internal threads inside the yoyo to be damaged without the axel being damaged, but if the axel does show signs of damaged threads the yoyo itself is likely to have similar internal damage.

That makes sense. I will keep an eye out to see if the threads on the axle start looking flat. Appreciate the help, much appreciated.
