How do you take your [instant] ramen?

How do I take my Ramen?

Well…. If I order the Ramen for pickup, I usually take it in whatever they put it in.

That really sounds very good

I make it like mac and cheese. Add the flavor pack and some butter and milk after draining the water.

Been using the trader joes wiggly noodle spicy ramen packs. I like to fry up some baby king oyster mushrooms (though I just discovered cordyceps mushrooms are delicious, gotta try them in ramen) with green onions to add to the soup after it’s done. I add some peanut butter, chili oil, spices like smoked paprika and chili powder, Bachan’s Japanese bbq sauce (hot or hella hot flavor preferably) and some miso paste and soy sauce for the broth. I usually do broccoli, celery, and/or bok choy. Toppings usually are just some nori and raw scallions/leeks.

I have been averse to eggs for a while so I stopped using them in ramen and I’m as vegan as possible anyway. I’ll eat eggs from my neighbor’s chickens though, so it’s not totally off the table I just have no desire. I’m trying to boycott the meat industry, not my neighbor. Plus she treats them well, more like pets. It’s nice to have eggs for baking and stuff like that.

12 years old thread…instant ramen will be a staple in many people’s diets for their entire lives. Hope this thread lives forever! I’m curious see how different humans concoct their instant delicacies.

Whatever instant ramen I make I have to put hotdog octopi and an egg. Taking a break from the eggs because they’re way to expensive these days. In my part of town eggs are twice as much as tritip…eff that.

yesssss. these are my favorite too. i like how its not soupy but has just enough sauce. I also throw a soy marinated soft boil egg, sliced up green onion, a protein of either leftover rotisserie chicken or pork belly, and topped with toasted sesame seed. and i only use a 1/3 of the included red sauce because if i use the full pouch it’s no bueno for me later.

It’s rare I buy instant ramen - I get the soy sauce flavor - make 2 packs, drain all the water and add just 1 flavor packet.

You forgot. After the eggs cook for 2 min. you put American cheese on it!

This dude replied to me after 12 years !?!?!

I’ve never personally been a fan of cheese on ramen. I’ll still drop an egg in when the occasion strikes, hit it with some soy sauce and I’m good to go.

Necro!!! For context I blame @wcrase

People should start having in their about profile how many successful necros they have. It amuses me, and I’m all about long awkward pauses that last several years. That being said, I serve it so that the broth (I use the packet) is slightly below the noodle line in the bowl, with an egg or 2, green onions for color, and maybe a crunchy leaf vegetable like cabbage or bean sprouts. If I want to really go wild, tables spoon of PB, and a dash of soy sauce. Some time the “poor boy pad Thai” hits, other times it’s a regret.
