How are metal rings attached to yoyos?

Really a two-part question:

1. How are they attached and stay on so firmly? I mean, I though it might just be a tight tolerance and they are just wedged in place and friction is what’s holding them.

2. If that is the case how do they physically get them on without damaging the ring or the yo-yo? Do they just bang it in place with a rubber mallet? Is it different when the steel ring is on the inside of the cup vs outside?

It is pressure fit. There was a youtube video someone posted of metal rings being attached to I think a magicyoyo katana but I searched a lot and can’t find it.
