I bought a hornet on the BST it was sleeping on the end of the string when I forward pass it. I bought some thick lube and applied it, and while it did help it does still have trouble returning on a tug. I believe it’s the starburst response cause when I tug it, I can hear the whirring sound of starburst grinding on string. It’ll try to catch then fall/slip.
Note I’m not using cotton string, Idk what I’m using.
Yeah. That’s a little more sluggish than I’d expect. I’d clean the bearing and spacers since you got them off the BST, just to start fresh, then re-lube.
For more response it’s smaller gap or thicker string or both. Removing one washer like @OhDavidBowie suggested is probably the way to go.
Note: removing the washers (and spacer?) from the axle side requires removing the axle. I destroyed a Hornet trying to pop caps off without removing the guts fully first.
