Help with Enigma

I’m sure most of you have seen the Cabin Tutorial for Spencer Berry’s trick Enigma. I learned the whole trick from the video and can basically do it all except for one part that gets on my nerves. It’s the part just after the Red Clover pop. Just after I pluck the string with my thumb and land it on both strings, I have trouble transfering the yoyo between my freehand thumb and index. In every video I’ve seen of someone doing the trick (the one of Chuck, one of Spencer, and one of somebody on youtube), they all do this part smoothly and without moving their thumb. I have to move my thumb out of the way though, and then re-insert it into the hold to finish the trick. Anyone have any idea what I’m doing wrong?

For reference, the part I’m talking about is at about 30 seconds in with this video:

Or at about 7 seconds with this one:

I’m not sure if I understand completely, but it just sounds to me that you’re having a problem with the chopsticks move at the end (where the yoyo goes in between your thumb and index finger). To be honest, I don’t think there is any other way to fix this than just keep trying. Chopsticks comes with time. Just make sure your thumb and finger are as far apart as possible. If this helps, here are a few videos that helped me get chopsticks down:
