Thanks again for the advice. I shorted the string about 6 - 8 inches. Now I’m having much greater percentage of success.
Also very reassuring to know I made a good choice of beginner top. As a yoyo player I never paid much attention to yoyo factory until I was looking for an inexpensive 1A yoyo and discovered the Whip. Later the Go. I’ve become a fan!
So when I got interested in spin tops a fixed tip made sense. I’ve very happy so far with the Short Circuit. Simple, durable, and great value for the money.
Looking forward to the BC, it should hopefully be a fun learning experience. The same for the Trompos Space Neptuno Spin Top.

Please help me decide. I’m considering a bearing top. Narrowed down for two choices.
Yoyo Factory Elec-Trick, or the Spintastics Trompo Grande.
That’s one of the nice things about spin tops… they’re cheap… get ‘em both!

The Trompo Grande is bigger and that can make it different to throw. Also likely to need balancing. I’ve gotten 4 Elec Trik and all were very well balanced out of the box. Neither is bad though. Just 2 cents.
