Finally! A onedrop ano reference list!

Nerds, rejoice!

I have been working with the guys at onedrop for the last couple weeks to catalog the playable museum at the shop in Eugene, OR. I have just barely broken the surface of this massive project, but realized very quickly that I was going to need a reference sheet for the seemingly endless amount of ano options that od has offered over the last two decades. So I went through everything on their flickr, and made this:

Onedrop Master Ano Reference Sheet

This is V1 of this sheet, and it will be constantly evolving. It is not perfect, but it is functional. Some of my formatting didn’t quite translate to the published version, so I’ll be fixing that stuff first. I will also be updating this as I am able to with new releases, as well as adding tabs for models available in each ano, release timelines, and ano artist responsible for specific runs. I am open to any feedback, corrections, additions, etc! This is a community effort for the people, so if this is something that is useful to you help me make it better for you!

Enjoy!

Here is a shot of drawer #2 from the museum for y’all. Check out the museum on instagram at @onedropmuseum ! Big thanks to Shawn and David for their help with this project, and just for being cool dudes and good friends.

Dude! One of my buddies had that exact one and lost it at the Oregon coast yeeeeeaars ago and has been on an endless search to replace it  I have a saved search on eBay for Terrarians specifically for this yo-yo. Such a cool ano!

I believe this one is called ‘藤’. I can’t remember how I found that out in the end, but it didn’t have an English name.

Noted! Sudo had so many wacky colorways with so many names. Does that have any translation at all?

It refers to a wisteria or light purple (because of the colour of wisteria). There’s no One Correct Way of translating it, of course.

This is sweet. I have really been enjoying the one drop museum instagram, and this ano sheet is awesome. Thanks for taking the time to do this for everyone!

Thanks you! Happy to do it! I’ve heard the idea of something like this come up a handful of times, but no one ever wanted to put in the time to make it happen. I’ve had some down time recently, and now that it’s something I can get some serious use out of I figured I might as well. That museum is so crazy to see in person, and so many people don’t have the opportunity to experience it.

thank you! incredible work and super helpful for reference and collection keeping.

My only suggestion, which granted is a wild one with a lot of work attached, is to add which models had each ano =]

That is on the list for sure. That may be a larger project than this initial list even  but I am working on it!

Added another one to the list today. If you have a OD ano example you don’t see on this list, send me a photo and I will research and add it to the list!

One nice thing would be if you cited where you got each colour name from, since One Drop have a habit of calling things slightly different names at different times or just getting the name wrong. And also using different names for almost identical colours.

Some examples for anyone unfamiliar with the pain:

  • ‘Pollock’ used to be spelled ‘Pollack’ but only sometimes
  • ‘Bluegrass Fade’ is also ‘Blue Grass Fade’ or just ‘Bluegrass’
  • Ryosuke Kawamura’s colourway is sometimes called ‘Ryosuke’, and other times called ‘Ryosuke Kawamura Edition’
  • YoYoExpert colours are variously called ‘YYE’, ‘YoYoExpert’, and ‘YoYoExpert Edition’
  • ‘Hair Band’ AKA ‘Hairband’ is very similar to ‘Grunge Band’, but one time they did a colour just called ‘Band’ :sob:
  • Is it ‘R.U.G.’ or ‘R.U.G’ or ‘RUG’?
  • The yoyo ‘The Fat Tire’ has a 20/20 edition called ‘Fat Tire 20/20’
  • The yoyo ‘DownBeat’ has a 20/20 edition called ‘Downbeat 20/20’
  • Don’t even get me started on ‘MarkMont’ vs ‘Markmont.’ vs ‘Markmont’

Any info that isn’t blatantly clear or at least clear enough on the website or the Flickr I’ve just asked the Shawn and David about. When similar colorways have different names I’ve listed them as such, or with an aka if they are really just the same thing with a different name. Like Cobalt and Sea Cave are identical. Some names turned into other names over time. Some fades and splashes didn’t get names, or got them in later runs. There’s one offs and oddities most people never see.

I got a deepstate id like a little info on. I’m Not sure if any of the deep states have ever been sold NQP. I’m not sure if that’s what this is, but I don’t know the name of the Ano, if there is one.

The seller told me that he had bought a number of bearings bulk from either OD or an associated supplier, he said this came along with those bearings he ordered. Theres a couple little imperfections ya can’t feel, that tiny circle, some other little lines.

Anyways, anyone have any info on it? Does the particular color Combo have a name?

That looks like “Galaxy Explorer” to me!

It may already be in there, or not included by design since it’s a Markmont release, but have you got the NYYYC edition MCMO in there?

Thanks man! Much appreciated!

Markmont stuff is essentially separate from OD now. I have anything that was released under the OD name on the list. May add the other Markmont stuff later.
