Since we’re nearing the end of the year and sharing our favourite freestyles, yo-yos, etc from 2024 I figured why not add a thread for everyone to share and discuss our favourite yo-yo trick videos released in 2024. So feel free to share and celebrate yo-yo trick videos that you really enjoyed, had great tricks, etc.
I’ll start us off with a few of my favourites:
The Canopy Collection has been doing a bunch of cool short trick reels on Instagram along with a few ~90s full videos. All of these have great presentation, interesting sound design/music and really cool tricks. I think my personal favourites are the recently released Keiran Cooper and Zach Gormley vids though:
This one I just love DKim’s tricks and I have been watching this on repeat:
Next, this one kinda bends the definition of a yo-yo trick video but there’s still loads of cool tricks, plus the yo-yo contest montage video is a classic and I think @KirbyRobot’s WYYC2024 video is up there with the best of them:
Then finally, Empathy are doing really cool videos for all their players with great cinematography and quirky sub-plots/narratives. I think the Jakub Dolejs Noir video in particular has got to be my favourite yo-yo video of the year with its storytelling and awesome tricks that are quite different from what we usually see from Jakub:
