Favorite cw and why?

Hey! I was talking with some friends about how much i like the Momiji counterweight by porykon and I was wondering what some of the other favorites out there are? I’m also a big fan of the chainmail counterweights too.

I really like cube shaped cws. Duncan dice with a bead is great, momiji is great, but my favorite right now is the gummy dice pro by Jake Bullock and gummy weights.
Also really enjoying the new printed bearing cw by pyrotechnics burnt love with a half-spec bearing in it

I enjoy anything porykon, but out of all of them so far I love the porykon v, the fu-ring, and the mintear when I want something a bit smaller.

Idk I like my Jupiter the best bc it untangles easy by just pulling vs the shapes that get stuck and don’t want to untangle. Any that untangle easy, like all the porykons do, I am cool with.

Im a huge fan of cube shaped counterweights. For my ss and ti throws im using fcl cws. For everything else my favorite tends to be either my momiji or takeshi dice.

Gummy dice are very good as well as the freesia and rapid ball being my favorite non cube cws.

I’m a big fan of Chunkeez and their stuff, although it can be difficult to source their cw’s (I think they’re launching a website at some point? Idr what the deal is) :frowning:

I’ve wanted to track down and try the chainmail cw that was included with unity yo-yos but as of now have yet to find one :upside_down_face:

Is the Unity chainmail CW any different from the one YoTricks makes?

The gummy dice weights from Jake Bullock are my favorite. They have the perfect weight and don’t destroy my knuckles. The porkykon fu ring is waay too light but only play casual 5a

I picked up a pine cone once and it’s still in my cw box.

The chainmail cw that came with some unity throws was made by dustin gunter the person that inspired the yotricks one. Theres another thread for that topic though. They are pretty different though

Still my favourites until I come up with something better.
After these, my Leatherjackets and Gobbler Eggs, then @antman 's Sphericon weights, then @TryCatchThrow 's stuff.
At some point I’ll make a chainmail, but I’m pretty sure @pyrotechnic 's new collapsible weights are going to be much better.

Does anyone have a preference of aluminium or steel rings for chainmail weights?

My favorite would be Bob at the moment.

@Nic_from_Adelaide Wait just a minute here. I’ve designed and printed some sphericons. They’re awesome! Someone made a counterweight out of them? Antman I see, his stuff is great!

And what does a collapsible counterweight look like and do?

I don’t know if it takes place of our Moth Ballz as far as my personal favorite counterweight. But these were my idea.

We’re hopefully able to get some TPU to try soon for some extra squish, might need a some slight design changes to be right weight.

The smaller size is pretty much ready for production, we’re just doing some price figuring out and maybe wanting to do some collaborations/special editions.
