Favorite candy?

Got one of those giant ones for my birthday once, it was pretty awesome. Sadly no pictures for evidence. That time I really did need some help eating it…

Honestly for me, it’s either warheads or skittles. Warheads are like nobody’s favorite but I love them a lot. Odd choice.

Warheads bring that sweet pain! Just like Zotz!

The only reason I ever go to boutique candy shops. Waaaaay better than Butterfingers.

My own home made candy as follows. It is sort of a cross between candy and fudge.

1 pound confectioners sugar
2/3 cup cocoa
1 stick melted butter
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups of your favorite nuts (Peanuts, mixed nuts, unsalted or salted. Avoid dry roasted because of the seasoning.) 2 cups is just a general number. I put in enough to have lots of nuts while still covered with chocolate.

In a large microwavable bowl mix sugar and cocoa together. Stir in melted butter, milk and vanilla extract. I use a dinner fork to stir. You should get something that is like thick cake icing. Beat with hand mixer for 1 minute. Microwave on high for 1 minute 15 seconds. Beat another minute with hand mixer. Microwave another minute. Beat another minute with hand mixer. Stir in nuts.

Line a 9x9 pan with wax paper. Pour in mixture. Refrigerate until is hardens, then cut into squares.

The hand mixer is optional, but it makes the candy much smoother and a bit lighter. You can leave out the nuts and pour this over a batch of brownies or a sheet cake.
