Should the counterweight rotate in a plane in front of the yoyo?
Or should it be on the exact plane as the string around the bearing?
Hopefully that question makes sense.

Im not a 5a player, but looking at this tutorial it is the same plane if I understand the question correctly
(It seems more like its half and half almost, sometimes infront sometimes the same, always, people who have a clue responded)
Parralel plane, as not to disturb your trapeze. Only about a fists length in front.
In front of the yoyo. Think of the width of your hand as the length between the plane for the yoyo and the counterweight. Your hand is what creates the space.
Thank you everyone, that all helps immensely
