What performance or feel do double rimmed yoyos like the Chief achieve?
I’m glad I’m not the only one who would like to know
well, as far as the chief goes, it is fairly light and has an extremely floaty feeling yet retains some stability due to the double rims. It’s not extremely stable by any means. I feel it lacks some stability considering it has double rings but it’s enough. Very fun chill throw.
My avant garde 2 had these. They sure looked cool!
Less kickback than full rim weight, and looks hella cool, maybe irg is better because it’s closer to the center. I haven’t had too much experience or evidence to say more than that. Still wondering if it has better or worse stability because the weight is put wider than if you just thin the rims and spread the weight more evenly. My imaginary yoyo “simulator” tells me it might be more prone to throw/regen vibe due to putting the weight wider away (also more prone to vibe with dings), I could be wrong, also not sure if it’s more or less tilty.
