Don't be afraid to get Big Red strings

While I haven’t tried their full selection and I got this as a free sample, just wanted to shoutout @BigRedStrings for giving me one of their Cloud 9 strings at PNWR. I’m enjoying it a lot and although it is slightly coarser than ZS airtec, which is the string I would most compare it to due to both being fully nylon and playing very light and whippy, I think it does have an edge competitively due to being amazing at slacks, keeping un-tensioned, and being even whipping than the ZS air. This is also not a putdown of the aforementioned ZS air as I think I like both equally.

If every string has this quality of craft, which it looks like it is the case, I think Big Red is just as valid of a boutique string choice as Zipline is.

I love their Cloud 9 strings! I think I usually get the medium thickness and they are perfect. Also, the strings usually feel a little coarse during the break-in period and then have a nice plush feel to them. I put them on all of my throws that I deem “special” lol. I recommend that everyone gives them a try!

Thanks for the love @Benthrowsyoyo & @Lydia!

The hardest part about being a new brand is awareness/recognition - we are aiming to change that, but it takes time for people to try it, form an opinion, and share it with others (in person, online, etc.) - thanks for the help with this!

Our goal is to provide quality, customizable strings for passionate people in the yo-yo scene. Ever-improving/evolving as a brand, and always willing to put in the work to make it the best experience it can be.

We grew up on one string type, responsive-style yo-yo competitions in Chico, CA (home to the National Museum - shout out!). When the transaxle, ball bearing, and eventually the unresponsive-style of play came out, it opened up what yo-yoing was capable of becoming. We aim to bring that sense of wonder, nostalgia, and new technology every day - paying homage to the past, while looking ahead at what can be.
