Designing Yoyos

So I’ve been wanting to get into designing and making my own yoyos but I don’t really know how to get into it or how to actually physically make them. I’ve heard mixed reviews on 3d printing them and if I were to do so how would I get the axel, response pads, and bearing on? Also any recommendations on a software?

Welcome future designer!

To get started here’s my video recommendation on how to design a yoyo from scratch

For software I used AUTOCAD atm so goodluck!

For printed yo-yos I use a nut and bolt design for the axle, the bearing and response pads are the same as metal yoyos

Personally I like fusion 360. I have designed something like 30 3d printable yo-yos. You can check out my work here https://www.printables.com/@AudreySickbur_131066/models may give you some ideas. There are a ton of options.

This would be pretty cool to see what you come up with because I feel like the market is saturated with basically the same yo-yos I feel like what’s lacking in the market is Anno. Nobody is doing cool anno its all the same imo.
