Reminds me of a 1988 Trapper Keeper (in the best way).

lol. I think I had that one. I haven’t heard the term Trapper Keeper in so long. It brought me back to a good time.

Ps. Sounds like a good name for a trick. What do you got?

It is so hilarious how things happen sometimes. Not 2 days ago my wife was talking about her old Trapper Keeper. When I thought about mine… I realized something about myself…

I was always a solid color guy… :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

it’s been like pulling teeth getting my daughter to play yoyo, even after being given a couple dope throws. not that i force it on her but she’ll pick one up every once in a while and just bind it for like 15 min but she was never confident enough to try an actual trick. last night i told her her mission for the night was to learn an actual trick. im not trying to force yoyo on her specifically i just dont want her to be a quitter because things are challenging. i set her up with a good deepest state setup and we began working on basic eiffel tower. after a bit of working with it she started hitting it and catching the return and she lost her mind! she’s now obsessed and keeps saying all she wants to do is play yoyo and she’s now taken my deepest state :rofl: i couldn’t find it and i found it with her in her room already practicing today. looks like i may need another deepest state after all :confetti_ball:

Not exactly a deepest state but it could have very easily done the same job. But I was at work the other day throwing, and an associate comes up and asks if they can try, not knowing how to do a yoyo. I take them over to a soft dirt area and show them how to throw. They got it immediately and were excited. No idea if they were inspired enough to get their own throw but landing something is definitely what will keep one interested enough to (hopefully) keep going.

My daughter is the only one of my kids (so far) who took more than a passing interest in yoyo.

I am 1000% good w that as they all have their own stuff, but it’s always cool to see her pick one up. Still makes me so happy. She’s getting married next week and we have custom Duncans and One Drops (shhhh!!!) to commemorate it.

This is really sweet. Thanks for sharing this.

My son has been picking up the yoyo more and more and really reminding me of the enjoyment when I first stared years ago. It’s so rewarding watching them pick up any skill set, but when it’s yoyo, it’s got that little extra slice of special.

These are great Ed and Congratulations to her and your growing family.

That’s so cool! Did OD and Duncan do the engraving, or was it done by a third party? Whatever it was, they look great!

Yeah the companies did it. There are 150 of the Duncans so that was a formal pad print order. The One Drops, David just did for me himself because he’s amazing Those are just for the groom, his dad, and his brothers.

That’s so awesome!

So, your daughter didn’t score one of the ODs? :wink:

Haha yes one is allocated to her. The groom got a cool blue one, but she gets one of the orange ones.
