What strings/thickness do you all find works best with the deepest state?

I was using fluff with the greasebucket bearing which was great but a fraction too responsive for my satisfaction so I’ve been using a nytro + which is great, goind to try a skyline iii next.

Nice I’ve got a variety of Zipline and Big red strings! I’ll start with thicker stuff than? It’s my first modern responsive

I really want to try some big red strings but unfortunately they don’t ship to Europe just yet. The zipline fluff string was good, very responsive with it , i haven’t tried anything thicker than that.

I just got a deepest state, and I’m trying to figure out the best setup. Has anyone tried a greasebucket with silicone? I feel like the pads sitting where they do makes it a little snaggier than I’d like, but worried silicone won’t be responsive enough

Fear not… the Greasebucket gives near perfect response. I say near because everyone differs in their tastes and there may be some who say perfect is a little more this way or that. Nearly perfect broadens the spectrum a tad.

Original One Drop Flow Groove Pads are 100% silicone response
I put in OD Slim 19mm Pads in mine to make it unresponsive

It’s quaint that most pads don’t seem to be silicone even though flowable silicone is regarded as the king of response?
i could be wrong but i think they were referring to flowable/permatex

Correct! I meant using flowable to get the response flush
I mean to tell you that you just gave me an idea. I am the sort who tried my level best to get a narrow C to play good in this but I hadn’t quite been able to get it just the way I like it. Perhaps flowing some Ultra Grey in there level and then trying to tune it for the narrow bearing. The Flow Groove pads do indeed protrude slightly into the gap on all of the States. So far the Deep and Deeper I liked best with Flow Groove. And the Deepest plays perfect as is with the Flow Groove pads. I just got a new tube of grey yesterday so I feel as if I have a purpose. 
See if Grey will make the Deepest into a fantastic narrow bearing throw.

Not yet but Will has pretty much the same goal as me I’m assuming. I bought one of the pink splashed from the newest run and I was just gonna leave my current one stock before I sell it.
I currently play my Deepest with a greasebucket and the stock pads, and I agree that I don’t love the feel of the pads grinding against the string while playing. I mostly use mine for pretty modern 1A stuff, but I still want to be able to get clean fly away dismounts to end tricks just because it feels dope. Gives off the same energy as the cracked players who still bust out insane tricks on Renegades. So even if it’s easier to play with flush silicone, if you can’t always get a clean flyaway dismount to return what’s the point?
@Slestak75 do you have any other types of gasket maker? I don’t like ultra grey nearly as much as ultra blue even in my unresponsives, the grey just isn’t responsive/grippy enough for my taste. And really flowable silicone is just so much grippier than the rtv gasket makers.

played a little deepstate dress up today 
the black cerakote with the US caps looks pretty cool.
Biiiiig deep state fan. Eventually I wanna chase down a copper, as well as a nickel. There’s also 2 panoramas and 1 diorama in the top case.
Thrash Polka and Lucille are awfully similar, buuut if your shooting for “all” that means “all” I dunno, gotta pump the brakes on throw purchases for a bit 
I feel like this is a def 1/2 swap. Whaddyall think? Ya got deep nebula on one side.
And vangoeish water lillys on the other. Look awfully different to me. Maybe there’s another one out there?

I do not. But it’s just right down at the auto store. If the grey doesn’t give me enough I’ll try something else.

i feel like maybe once they break in it wont be as bad, the “responsive” yyf pads in my confusion still stick into the gap a lot but it doesnt really snag on string tricks anymore

I’ve had my current Deepest since release, it’s as broken in as it’s gonna get. I don’t have any issues with snagging, I just think it might be better with flush silicone, but if it’s not responsive enough any more I’ll be sad and need to buy new pads lol.

I seem to recall that Thing One with my Deepest State was to put in a Greasebucket. 
I’ve left the pads alone; they don’t seem to be bothersome. I also bought a couple cards of replacement pads because between them and the Greasebucket this thing does exactly what I want.
