Damaged Bearing Seat

I dissembled my Miracle Marvelous yoyo for the first time to clean and lube the bearing. It was extremely difficult to get apart. After I finally was able to disassemble the yoyo I noticed the damage on the bearing seat. It looks like the plating has chipped away. I don’t think it affects the way the yoyo plays but it does appear it might be in contact with the bearing. I’ll keep playing with the yoyo but I was disappointed to see the damage on a new yoyo.

YYF yoyos are just like that.

I had a Hypothesis that was like that new. I contacted the vendor and they looked at other ones that they had in stock, and apparently this is somewhat normal for some companies/models. They are just machined too tight. I wasn’t happy about it, but it played fine.

That’s the reason I don’t own any current YYF models. It seems like the aluminum they use is just compacted mining waste (and I’m not being ironic).

Their aluminum is definitely more fragile than what is common in other brands.
