Yes, he is.
I almost solved a 4x4x4 blind by cheating (writing everything I need to remember on a piece of paper.) Just two stinking twisted corners. The mistake was in the easiest part of the whole process: memorizing corners.
EDIT: Just tried it without a paper and ended up three corners off. Itās surprising that I keep messing up on corners because thatās the easiest part.
Wait what? You were 3 corners off in a legitimate 4bld? Holy crap
I JUST DID IT!!! YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! It felt sooooooo good!! I suppose itās really not all that much more difficult than just two or three 3x3s blind, but when I opened my eyes and saw a solved 4x4x4, I went crazy.
I use this tutorial for centers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcfpxhfA5jQ
I use the same setup moves for wings as in old pochmann for edges, except I use the algorithm U lā U2 lā U2 F2 lā F2 r U2 rā U2 l2 Uā to swap the UBR and UBL wings. I then proceed to use old pochmann for corners, and if there is parity, I just have to figure out how to do a combination of algorithms properly.
Stuart what tutorial did you originally use for learning 3 bld? And great job!
This is the one I would recommend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idRv29MhQ74
I actually started with a different tutorial but I didnāt like m2 for edges.
Just completed the first step of about 30 steps to solving the 5x5x5 blind: solving the edge centers after writing them down.
5 blind seems so hard
Apparently the only difficult part about it is remembering the letters. I just did it after writing all the letters down. I went crazy again when I opened my eyes. I walked around my room for 2 minutes in total amazement.
AAAAAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!! Two twisted corners on a completely legitimate 5x5x5 blind attempt. 2 twisted corners. AAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!
Wat the heck. How long?
On another note I did a legit 3 blind edges only success. Tommorow is corners and the next day Iāll attempt the whole cube
Lol, I was watching tv for about 2 hours, so I had time to think about it a while. Before that I had about 30 minutes, so yeah.
Corners are super easy compared to edges. On a side not, you only need to know two algorithms: t-perm and y-perm. You just need to do corners first and mentally switch the two edges (the ones getting affected in corner solving) while memorizing.
If you can get it down to half an hour you could be top 100 for 5bld in the world
Does anyone know of a good tutorial for a 3x3 blind?
Oh, no, I didnāt almost get it in under half an hour. I wasnāt even close. I might be able to do it in a few months though.
Look back a few posts. I put a link somewhere recently.
thats what I meant, IF
Oh
