Computer Tweakers - Post Your Benchmarks!

So I’ve noticed there’s quite a few folks here well-versed in computer parts. I thought it might be a fun idea to compare benchmarks.

Now I don’t have Time Spy or Cinebench and just use UserBenchmark. You can download the software free here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/

Here’s the best I’ve gotten: Please click the green human to continue - UserBenchmark
I don’t remember the numbers but I had both my CPU and GPU overclocked.

Seems to be PC only.

I can’t run the software as I’m on Mac…but I’ve got an M1 MacBook Pro with 16gb of ram and it smokes.
Absolutely not the best performing thing out there…but it’s done nothing but impress the heck out of me.
I’ve also got an 11" M1 iPad Pro

I bought my wife a new 24 inch iMac with the M1 chip. I’m a Linux/Windows user so I really don’t have a ton of experience with Mac, but the M1 seems incredibly impressive for what it is.

It appears that you’ve tried to run the benchmark…but your computer burned up and destroyed the benchmark in the process >.<;’

My M1 MacBook Air is simply amazing in terms of both speed and battery performance.

Nice build. What do you use it for?

UserBenchmarks: Game 0%, Desk 26%, Work 0%
CPU: AMD E1-2500 APU - 28.4%
GPU: AMD HD 8240 - 0.8%
HDD: WD Blue 500GB (2010) - 49.8%
RAM: Hynix HMT451S6AFR8A-PB 1x4GB - 13.1%
MBD: HP 20-b310

Do I win a prize for having the worst PC?

You’re able to browse YYE forums with it and that’s all that matters

Barely

I bought a pretty high end GFX card in 2014. I got a “MSI R9 280 GAMING 3G 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card”. Seeing as how graphics cards seem to be rare, I was wondering if this card is compatible with modern games.

I know id probably have to upgrade my whole system; I got a modest Sandy Core i5 2500k @ 3.3 GHz with 8 GB of DDR3 ram. It does what I need to do, but I was thinking about delving back into gaming.

It really depends on the games you’re looking to play with that setup. A 2500K and R9 280 is a solid combo, especially if you overclock the CPU a bit. Though by today’s standards it’s a bit dated. For newer games I wouldn’t think you’d have much issue, but you’d likely have to turn down the settings a fair bit to get a decent frame rate.

Mainly for gaming, gpu cluster and some amateur to mid level overclocking. Like Samsung Bdie ram etc.

Thanks for the insight.

But what if I were to upgrade mobo/cpu/ram? Is the bottleneck my GPU or will it perform in a more modern setup?

Game performance is mainly determined by the GPU. If you upgraded the rest to the most recent gen, then yeah your GPU would be bottlenecking your setup a bit.

Did you run the benchmark? It’ll give you a decent idea of where your build currently stands.
