Honestly for this specific yo-yo, I started pretty much completely from scratch. I didn’t have a specific vision for what I wanted the yo-yo to be, I just started drawing a rough profile, and just began to refine through everything until had something I was happy with. I didn’t want to necessarily be influenced by any other specific yo-yos, it’s difficult to make something completely original these days.
The initial idea for the packaging itself I think may have came to me before i even had the first design completed. That was part of my initial rush of ideas when I first thought of everything, the name, the four pillars series, the packaging. It was a proverbial light bulb that went off and I was just like, I need to make this happen.
Thanks so much very cool! Hope to get to try one out!
Hey CJ!
So whenever I meet someone new, one of my favorite things is finding out what they’re passionate about and seeing their face light up. I get the vibe wrestling does that for you, so my question is: in your mind, what sets wrestling apart from other hobbies or intrests?
I think I briefly touched on it in another answer, but to me professional wrestling is the most dynamic form of performance art in the world. You can go watch a movie in a theater and see exciting action or captivating story, but it’s never something you get to be actually included in. As a fan a wrestling show, you have the unique experience of being able to visually connect with the performers in the ring. Finding that one person in the crowd to reach for when you’re selling or to show the emotion or pain on your face creates a certain connection between the audience and performers. There’s never going to be a movie where one of the characters will fly out of the screen and into your lap, but sit front row at your local Indy and you can experience larger than life feats and the suspension of disbelief in a personal setting that make you feel like you’re part of the show, not just watching it.
