Thanks for the thoughts and update! I’m glad to hear that RSO is still around.
I was trying to use the RSO website as a reference because they had a huge write up on shore hardness for pads and other info, and I’m trying to get some custom pads made and was confused when the website didn’t work. Between that and the huge silver bullet write up on there it’s a shame the site is down I would have backed that stuff up to the yoyo archive or something if I had known the site was going to go down. At least now I know why I couldn’t find that info.
You could probably use something like the wayback machine to find the pad info
no pics but at least the whole writeup was survived.
*edit pics are still indeed survived, my internet was too slow to load the archive ![]()
Thank you!
Well now I really wanna try landing pads
Many are sold out. but Caribou Lodge Yoyo Works pads are plentiful
Atmos sells Saturn pads, which are “developed and produced” with RSO
Anyone know if these are snow tire or summer tire thickness?
It says they sit slightly recessed so that would be summer tire I believe.
That doesn’t sit well with me. A website is so much more than a storefront.
To me, it’s part of customer service to provide them with an archive.
Meanwhile, YoYoguy.com still goin strong lol
(No, they didn’t answer emails to attempt to buy the old stock still listed)
I miss Bad Wolf so much
Me too! Great strings and such a collection of cool colorways!
I agree that archiving information is a valuable service. There are brands that are still actively on-line where information about recent releases is unavailable once they sell out.
Depending on the platform, even a website with no new content planned can rack up hosting and maintenance costs just to keep it secure.
There is some RSO information on the Museum of Yo-Yo History website:
And on the Yo-Yo Archive website:
Hopefully, companies that can’/don’t want to maintain their own site will continue to make the information available elsewhere.
I thought bad wolf was still
Around just in limited numbers in person or with certain drops.
This really pains me, I love nerding-out with research. They just seem to think “idk, it was just a YoYo, what’s the big deal? Look here’s some more”. Like classic cars, just because there are new ones doesn’t mean the old ones don’t matter anymore. History is human, it’s interesting, no matter how niche.
And also for dedicated collectors it can leave big gaps in verified info
I hope rcs returns some day
This is why sites like the yoyo archive are so valuable
and we are thankful to have it
Thank you very much @rkalajian for your work!!!
