Can you play with only 1 shield and c clip on? I lost my c clip, so the shield wont stay on
Sure can. It really won’t make a difference at all in terms of play, but it might help keep some of that dirt out if the deshielded side sits snug on the yo-yo.
If you’re willing to start some maintenance, I may even recommend taking off the other one. It’ll make cleaning easier.
Can u just clean wit thin lube?
No, you clean the bearing with a solvent and you lube it with oil.

If you wanted to know, some of these solvents are: mineral spirits, pure denatured alcohol and lighter fluid.
