Can smacking a yoyo to your hand cause it to vibe?

can it cause it vibe? it did not hurt but after smacking the yoyo started to feel rough for some reason?
and the bearing sounded a lil weird too but when i spinned it after opening the yoyo it was perfectly fine.

ps: the yoyo smacked my hand very lightly it did not even hurt but right after that, the yoyo felt different

I bashed a YYF Miracle into my hand hard enough to break skin and it was never the same again. Smooth to vibey and I could never get it smooth again. Never had a light hit alter a throw though/

Easy answer: anything is possible.

More thoughtful answer: I’ve had Yo-Yo halves loosen upon catch - which resulted in some vibe. I would check and make sure that the halves are snug.

To answer your ‘very dumb question’ (it’s not, btw): Yes. String plays a massive role in play and performance. The type of string and the tension it holds works in conjunction to the gap width and pads - impacting bind, spin time, etc.
