I am leaving Oklahoma for good. I need to find a job ANYWHERE East of Oklahoma. I don’t care if it’s Kentucky, Fla, NY or any other place. I’ll even deal with the cold if I have to in Mn or Michigan.
Oklahoma has become an enemy of mine and I can’t stay there anymore. if you have any prospects for me I’d much appreciate it. I’m a welder by trade. I am currently working as a Gas Line Surveyor. I will work just about anywhere to support my family.

Well, I’m not gonna pretend to be an adult here, but I know of three or so job openings in my area for welders. Good place to live, unemployment rates and taxes are quite low. Lots of houses available. Resale on houses isn’t rock solid though.

Maryland has Bethlehem Steel and several locations along the ports of Baltimore. I’m pretty sure you could find something in your niche in either of those settings. Plus, only an hour north is YoYoJoe’s Toys and Fun in Wilmington, DE which has a pretty nice sized yo-yo club that meets every Saturday. They also host MAR, so that’s another bonus
Cost of living VS pay scale is something I have to look at. Not sure what it’s like in Maryland. I have a friend that lives there too so that would be a major bonus.
Ok here is the whole story behind us wanting to move.
My wife is “Acting Manager” of the motel she works for. She was put there by unusual circumstances. She does deserve where she is at. She was given this property by a certain Area Manager. Then the properties got shifted and now she works for another Area Manager. This area manager has lied to her face telling her that if she does good then he’ll send her to their school to finish her training. It’s only two weeks long. She’s already passed the Manager’s exam and passed with a 90% or more.
Now her current boss is actively looking for a manager to replace her. He was mad about Val being put here and it’s left a bad taste in his mouth since he didn’t get to choose who was here. Instead of telling her the truth he lied. Now she finds out about the 4 interviews and getting more and more angry. She did nothing to deserve it and is getting the raw end of the deal because she isn’t someone he picked.
The area manager and his boss don’t like how she’s being treated but they can’t do anything really. All they can do is tell her to go through the proper channels.
Now there is a possibility that she could be going to school if all these emails to her current boss and the copies of those emails going to HR do their job. If this is the case then She may determine where we move. Our whole life is up in the air right now. I don’t want pity at all. I can handle this. What I would like is for you guy’s to know why I want out of Oklahoma. Too many back stabbers. She’s on her way to send those emails so we shall see in the next few days or so if we even have a place to live.

I have been in a similar situation wondering what is going to happen housing-wise. I am sorry to hear it, and sadly I spoke to our HR guy at our work about any interest in a certified welder and they still haven’t gotten back to me. Wauseon Machine blew me and my friend off so I have no clue what is going on there. I wish you the best and if I get any tips one way or the other about possibilities I will certainly let you know.
