so i would consider myself a foodie and ill give you my personal take. i want food to stand on its own with a sauce as an enhancement or addition to the existing flavor. fried breading can be very flavorful. so like in this example, if your chicken and breading is bland and you need the sauce to create the flavor, at that point you arenāt a chicken restaurant, youāre a sauce restaurant
in another example, im a huge pizza fan. when i try a new pizza place i order a cheese slice. not because itās my favorite pizza, but because i want to see what they can do with the basics. if you can wow me with a cheese slice, im confident any other toppings i add will be an improvement rather than a disguise
this is also pretty snobbish level food critique though and probably not best levied at fast food lol
canes is fire with our without the sauce. chicken is cooked beautifully, the breading is crispy and well seasoned (its not the most face kicking amount of seasoning but it is more flavorful than chic fil a breading). sauce is something that can live on its own without the chicken as well lol
Preaaaach, brother! Caneās is awesome. Somehow my family went to one in Blue Springs and said it was awful. I have never been to that one and so all Iāve ever had from Caneās is deep fried nirvana dipped in pure bliss
I think ive gotta gove it another shot based off these reviews, cause the one time I had it it was subpar and only made edible by the sauce (which is admittedly fire)
I rather go to popeyes, but ill give it another shot
Daveās Hot Chicken is my favorite nowadays, at a 5 spice. I accidentally ordered it at 0 spice and it was frigging terrible. The look and texture of fried chicken with NO flavor, it was bizarre lol. Make sure to get some spice even if just like 1 if you donāt like spicy.
I dont know if Asads makes it out to you or if its just in the city. Its basically Daveās, but I like it better. Might just be their spices though, I do order mine dumb spicy
