The Bishamonten from Sengoku is a bold and innovative bimetal yo-yo that pushes material design to the limit. Featuring a stainless steel body paired with an Aluminum 7075 hub, this yo-yo is engineered to maximize the unique properties of its materials.
While it might look like a traditional bimetal with oversized stainless steel rims, the Bishamonten flips the script. This design places stainless steel as the primary material, with the aluminum alloy functioning as the inner hub. This unconventional approach allows Sengoku to harness the raw power of stainless steel while fine-tuning the weight distribution using the lightweight aluminum 7075 center.
Stainless steelās density delivers unmatched power and stability, but its weight can make precision weight balancing challenging. Sengoku solves this by machining the aluminum hub to perfection, resulting in a yo-yo that showcases the incredible spin force of stainless steel with refined control.
The Bishamontenās weight is strategically distributed for powerful, responsive play, giving you a throw that feels commanding and precise. If youāre looking for a yo-yo that combines groundbreaking design with unmatched performance, the Bishamonten is a force to be reckoned with.
Julio has cooked up some pretty good recipes in the last few yearsā¦.
This was the result of basically rolling designs through his head and envisioning pretty much the look you see.
His focus ālockedā on the aestheticā¦ā¦ but then he had to integrate performance into that visual.
With the aluminum core matched to the massive stainless rings, it became immediately apparent to Julio that the weight distribution was going to be more critical then he had envisioned or anticipated.
But he loves the concept and the serious look that you see in this finished product. So he just kept working the design to get the proper balance and pull out the maximum performance while keeping the amazing look of the yo-yo.
He had already come to realize that bringing this design into its final stage was going to cause a negative effect on the sleeping patternā¦ Him arguing with himself about why he would take such a challenge when things might just be a waste of energy? Ultimately, would people be able to wrap their heads around, something that was so different before they tried it?
I can only say what Iāve had to say up to this point because basically Iāve had one for a few months now.
There are so many amazingly excellent yo-yos available today. And only a rare few of us have probably tried even a fourth of everything, that most of us taking turns saying this or that yo-yo is the greatestā¦ā¦ is always kind of a stretch.
The Bishamonten is a Benchmark design for Sengoku and easily one of the most impressive yo-yos I have ever thrownā¦and I have a few.
